Documentation for our project was to focus on demolision, new insertions, layout and material finishes.
My scheme utilised the existing voids within the Turbine Hall and used this as the overall design feature within the space. The programs offered at code: creative were housed within the existing voids. By filling the voids, this allowed for vertical connection (see "Section a & b") to emerge throughout the space - highlighting the interconnective nature of how the programs tie-in with one another.
By filling the voids, I was also aiming to adhere to the heritage constraints of the site. As a result, the existing was untouched, but ironically it is the new insertions which are preserved in glass containers. (See "Internal Circulation' here to grasp this concept further).
